Kevin Watson, 42, was shot and killed on Wednesday evening while streaming live on Facebook from his car. The video, which has gone viral with over 2.5 million views, captured the moments leading up to the fatal shooting.
The Cook County Medical Examiner identified Watson as the victim on Thursday. According to the Chicago Police Department (CPD), the shooting occurred at approximately 6:14 p.m. in the 5000 block of West Madison Street in the South Austin neighborhood.

What Happened During the Livestream?
In the Facebook Live video, Watson appears to be discussing a parking issue while sitting in the driver’s seat. Moments later, the shooter approaches the car window. Watson raises his hands and exits the vehicle before gunshots are heard.
CPD confirmed that Watson was shot in the chest and later succumbed to his injuries. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

In the viral clip, Watson can be heard saying:
“I said, I said, listen, bro, if they do come, let us park right here. You feel me? If they do come, come get me. We’ll move the car so they can get the space. We will move our car. Whatever car we need so they can get the space. Let’s get the park.”
Moments later, the shooter fires multiple shots. The video ends after bystanders approach the scene, with one person cautioning others not to disturb the area because it’s a crime scene.
Authorities have yet to reveal further details about the motive or circumstances of the shooting.
