Threads has finally updated its iPhone and Android apps to include a dedicated media tab. The Meta-owned microblogging platform now supports a dedicated tab that shows pictures and videos uploaded by users on their profiles.
Meanwhile, users can use a newly released markup feature to highlight specific parts of another user’s post when reposting it to their followers. Threads will also allow people to tag other users while sharing photos, just like Instagram.
Previously, Threads users had to scroll through a person’s timeline to see all of the pictures and videos that they had posted. Posts with media were shown along with text-only posts, making it difficult to look for specific posts. With the most recent update, users will now see all posts with media shared by a person in reverse chronological order.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced the arrival of a dedicated media tab to Threads, calling it “a long overdue request from the community.” He also announced that the platform will now allow users to tag others while sharing photos on the platform. This is the same photo tagging feature that exists on Instagram.
A third feature is on its way to Threads users, a markup tool that allows them to highlight certain areas of another user’s post when sharing it on the platform. When users repost something, they can now use the new markup, which allows them to highlight certain areas of the original post. This feature was announced earlier this month, and it is now rolling out widely.

Loudfact team confirmed that the new media tab was available in the most recent version of Threads for iOS and Android. A new markup tool is also available, which allows users to draw using a pencil, highlighter, and ‘arrow’ tool. On the other hand, it looks that the photo tagging functionality is still being rolled out to users, possibly in phases.
