A fast-moving brush fire, now named the Lodge Fire, is forcing evacuations in Spring Valley on Friday afternoon. According to the San Diego Sheriff’s Office, the fire broke out near Jamacha Boulevard and Doubletree Road.
“An EVACUATION ORDER is in place for the shaded areas in red shown in the maps below. It means everyone in the impacted areas must leave immediately,” officials announced on X.

Evacuation Orders Issued in Spring Valley
Authorities have issued an evacuation order for neighborhoods surrounding Doubletree Road and Barbit Road in Spring Valley. Residents are being urged to leave the area without delay.
“Immediate threat to life. This is a lawful order to leave now. The area is lawfully closed to public access,” the emergency alert stated.

The Lodge Fire has already spread to 30 acres and, according to Cal Fire, has the potential to grow to 200–300 acres. Firefighters are deploying both aircraft and ground crews to contain the blaze.
“Aircraft and ground crews are actively engaged, please avoid the area,” Cal Fire confirmed in a post on X.

As firefighting efforts continue, residents have shared videos and images of the Lodge Fire on social media. One clip shows flames burning along the mountainside as thick smoke rises into the sky, highlighting the intensity of the blaze.
