Five people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a shooting in the Vermont Vista neighborhood of South Los Angeles, authorities confirmed. The gunfire erupted just after 2:30 p.m. near South Figueroa Street and Manchester Avenue, according to LAPD Officer Terzes.
Victims Include One in Critical Condition
The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that one person is in critical condition, two are seriously hurt, and another suffered minor injuries. A fifth victim self-transported to a hospital, but their condition has not yet been confirmed.

According to LAPD, the shooting happened at a strip mall in the Vermont Vista area, leaving five people wounded. One victim was critically injured and four others were in stable condition after being transported to local hospitals.

Authorities believe the incident may be gang-related, but no suspects are in custody. Witnesses reported a chaotic scene with multiple shots fired, possibly from a vehicle, though the exact motive remains unclear.
