According to a tipster on social media, Samsung may release a more affordable model of its flagship Galaxy Z Flip series smartphone, known as the Galaxy Z Flip FE, next year. The South Korean tech giant launched a Special Edition version of its flagship Galaxy Z Fold 6 in certain areas a few weeks ago, but it was significantly more expensive than the standard model. Meanwhile, the alleged Galaxy Z Flip FE is expected to have toned-down internals to cut costs.
In a post on the South Korean blogging site Naver (via Android Authority), tipster @yeux1122 suggested that Samsung may be producing a more affordable variation of the Galaxy Z Flip series. The purported device is expected to enter the market in 2025.
While the exact launch date is unclear, the tipster claimed that it would be a “simultaneous release,” implying that it might debut alongside the next-generation Samsung foldables, the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, in the latter half of the year.
This development builds on Samsung’s recent announcement during the Q3 2024 Earnings Call, when they stated that they were looking into “ways to lower entry barriers so that more customers can actually experience foldable products.” This suggests that more affordable variants of the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold series smartphones are being developed.

Furthermore, the tipster stated that Samsung may release two new devices next year: the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim and an additional Galaxy Z Fold 7 series model. While the former will probably come out “before and after” April 2025, the latter is expected to be released simultaneously, implying that it might be yet another smartphone debuting with Samsung’s seventh-generation foldable. If this is accurate, we could see four foldable smartphones arrive next year.
