A brush fire broke out Saturday near Kunia Road, about 1–2 miles north of Walmart in Kunia, Hawaii, sending thick black smoke into the air and prompting concern among residents and commuters.
Video from the scene shows massive plumes of smoke visible from miles away, rising over the roadway as strong winds fueled the flames.

The Hawaii Department of Transportation confirmed on Facebook that Kunia Road is closed between Anonui Street and the Schofield Barracks Lyman Gate due to the fire.
“Kunia Road is currently closed between Anonui St. and Schofield Barracks Lyman Gate because of a brush fire,” officials stated.
