A large fire broke out early Sunday on Traverse Mountain in Lehi, Utah County, engulfing several structures that appeared to be residential. The blaze, visible from miles away, sent thick smoke billowing across the region.
Flames Visible for Miles
Videos circulating on social media showed flames consuming buildings as emergency crews rushed to the scene. Eyewitnesses reported multiple fire engines arriving rapidly as the blaze spread through the area near Point of the Mountain along Interstate 15.

Authorities Yet to Release Official Details
As of now, local authorities have not issued any official statement regarding the cause or extent of the fire. The Utah County Emergency Services have been coordinating with Lehi city officials to contain the flames and assess the damage.
Construction Site Engulfed in Flames
According to Jeanteil Livingston, a spokesperson for the City of Lehi, the four-story complex that caught fire was under construction, and “no one was believed to be inside any of the structures.”
She added that emergency crews were actively fighting the fire throughout the morning but did not provide an exact address for the affected site. “The complex sits on Traverse Mountain, south of the Salt Lake County Flight Park, where the fire could be seen Sunday morning,” Livingston said.
Firefighters Battle the Blaze
Firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the Utah blaze under control, battling strong winds and dry conditions that fueled the spread. Local residents were urged to stay clear of the area as authorities continued to monitor potential flare-ups.
