A two-year-old girl and two adults were hurt in a Sheboygan shooting on Friday morning. The shooting happened around 10 a.m. at a business near South Business Drive and Wilson Avenue. Scanner audio reviewed by local media said the child was shot near the upper armpit and was taken by Flight for Life to a trauma center.

Sheboygan Police said one suspect has been arrested and a gun was found at the scene. Officials said there is no ongoing danger to the public. Northbound traffic on South Business Drive from Washington Avenue to Wilson Avenue is closed as the investigation continues.

Rising Gun Violence in Wisconsin

This Sheboygan shooting adds to concerns about gun violence in Wisconsin. Data from the Wisconsin Department of Justice shows gun-related injuries have risen by more than 15% in the past three years. Sheboygan has faced several serious incidents in 2024–25, including an armed standoff in March.

Gun violence affecting children is also a national issue. The Gun Violence Archive says over 1,200 minors have been injured or killed in firearm incidents in the U.S. in 2025. Wisconsin officials warn that “even rural and suburban areas are not immune to the national crisis”, pointing to the easy access to illegal guns.

Community Shocked as Investigation Continues

Residents in Sheboygan are shocked by the violence. Local advocates have called for better safety measures in businesses and schools. Authorities will share updates on the injured victims later today.

Police ask anyone with more information about the Sheboygan shooting to contact the Sheboygan Police Department.
