Nearly a decade after taking aim at Donald Trump in her 2016 “Black Barbies” remix, Nicki Minaj appears to have taken a firm step in the opposite political direction. Her recent speeches, posts, and online interactions suggest an unmistakable shift toward pro-Trump and pro–JD Vance messaging—sparking intense discussion among fans and critics alike.
Over the past several weeks, Minaj has used her massive social media platform to praise the Trump administration, uplift MAGA messaging, and attack prominent Democratic figures. The transformation became unmistakable after her unexpected remarks at the United Nations in November, where she commended the Trump administration for addressing religious persecution abroad.
During the speech, Minaj stated: “I would like to thank President Donald Trump for prioritizing this issue… and calling for urgent action. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order to respect each other.”
Shortly afterward, she tweeted: “United Nations was a MAGA Flex. Trump on da text. Yall should be afraid of what I’m gon do next.”
Minaj’s Growing Alignment With Trump and JD Vance
Minaj’s political realignment has been reinforced by the warm response she has received from MAGA-aligned figures, including JD Vance. Vance inserted himself into Minaj’s long-running feud with Cardi B, tweeting: “Nicki > Cardi.”
Minaj responded positively, later writing: “Nothing brings me joy like the Vance memes & knowing he leaned into it like a boss… Vance is an assassin. Don’t debate him. On anything. Quick as a computer. Maybe quicker.”
Her posts since then have repeatedly amplified pro-Trump messaging, including memes, political commentary, and shared content praising Trump’s leadership.
From Rap Feuds to Red Politics: Minaj’s New Online Persona
Minaj’s social media has increasingly become a platform for policy commentary and political criticism, including sharp attacks on California Governor Gavin Newsom. In response to his comments on transgender youth, she posted: “Imagine being the guy running on wanting to see trans kids… Normal adults wake up & think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids. Not Gav… The Gav Nots, GavOUT.”
She has also celebrated Trump and Vance through memes, videos, and endorsements—such as reposting a clip of Trump dancing with Elon Musk captioned “Mood” and calling Vance “smarter than a computer.”
In another post praising what she described as the administration’s wins, Minaj wrote:
“No men in women’s sports, Border is closed, Our cities are safer than ever, Criminal illegals are being deported.”
