A major Madeira Beach fire broke out on Thursday, November 27, at the marina located at 13665 Gulf Blvd in Florida, according to local media reports. Witnesses said several boats were quickly engulfed in flames as thick smoke spread across the waterfront.
Authorities temporarily closed Gulf Blvd because fire hoses were stretched across the roadway during active firefighting operations.
Four Boats Burning; Hazmat Crews on Scene
Early updates suggested that four boats were on fire. Firefighters deployed booms around the burning vessels to contain possible environmental hazards caused by leaking fuel or debris.
Hazmat crews were also on the scene to address chemical and water contamination risks.

Visuals Show Towering Black Smoke Over Madeira Beach
Videos and images shared on social media showed dense black smoke billowing into the sky, visible from several miles away. Local Tampa Bay outlets shared close-up footage showing the boats completely engulfed in flames as firefighters battled the blaze.
Officials from the Madeira Beach Fire Department have not yet released details about the cause of the fire.
Residents React With Concern
Witnesses near the marina reported hearing an explosion before seeing flames.
One resident posted a photo with the caption: “I heard the explosion—praying everyone is okay.”
Images posted by locals showed firefighters spraying large jets of water toward the burning boats as smoke filled the sky.
