Authorities Secure Evergreen High After Shooting Incident.

Three teenagers, including a suspected shooter, were critically injured Wednesday during a shooting at Evergreen High School in the Jefferson County foothills, Colorado. A fourth student was also hospitalized.

Hundreds of law enforcement officers responded to the school at 29300 Buffalo Park Road after a 911 call reported an active shooting at 12:24 p.m., according to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jacki Kelley.

Suspected Shooter Details

It is unclear whether the suspected shooter was struck by police or harmed themselves. The juvenile suspect is believed to be a student at the school, but no identity has been released.

Investigators have identified at least one area outside the building where the shooting occurred, but it is not yet known whether the incident began inside or outside the school.

School Secured and Reunification Efforts

Authorities have secured Evergreen High School. Parents and guardians were directed to Bergen Meadow Elementary at 1928 S. Hiwan Drive for student reunification. School officials asked families not to come to the high school due to ongoing police activity.

Law Enforcement Response

The ATF Denver division and FBI Denver field office responded to the shooting. Colorado Governor Jared Polis said:

“Students should be able to attend school safely and without fear across our state and nation. We are all praying for the victims and the entire community.”

Jeffco Public Schools confirmed the shooting occurred outside the school building, which remained on lockdown as authorities cleared the campus.

Parents, students, and staff continue to cope with shock and trauma. Emergency responders and school officials are working to support victims and ensure safety for all students and staff at Evergreen High School.
