Brazilian social media star Barbara Jankavski, widely known by her online name “Boneca Desumana” (which translates to “inhuman doll”), has died at the age of 31.
Jankavski gained massive popularity as the “Human Barbie” due to her striking appearance and multiple cosmetic surgeries, which she often discussed openly with her followers.
The influencer frequently shared updates about her procedures, including a facelift she underwent in June. Her followers admired her confidence and transparency about beauty transformations.
What Police Found
According to a police report obtained by CNN Brasil, Renato Campos Pinto de Vitto, a 51-year-old public defender, told authorities that he was with Jankavski on the night of her death after hiring her for “sexual services.”
He admitted that they both consumed illegal substances that night. Later, when Jankavski stopped moving in her sleep, he tried to revive her but was unsuccessful and called emergency services.
Paramedics arrived but were unable to save her. Police confirmed that Jankavski’s body was found wearing only underwear, with an injury to her left eye and marks on her back.
A friend later told investigators that the eye injury may have resulted from a previous fall.
Investigation Underway
The Sao Paulo Public Security Secretariat has ordered an autopsy and toxicology tests to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities are currently treating the case as suspicious while awaiting test results.
Jankavski had been inactive on social media for more than a month before her death. Her final post was a video collaboration with another influencer, uploaded on October 1.
Fans React to the Tragic News
Fans across Brazil have flooded social media with messages mourning her sudden death. Many described her as “beautiful, confident, and full of life.”
Her unexpected passing has sparked conversations about the pressures of social media fame and the darker side of influencer culture.
