Actor Zachery Ty Bryan, best known for playing Brad Taylor on Home Improvement, was arrested in Eugene, Oregon, over the weekend. According to a report from TMZ, police took Bryan into custody on Saturday for allegedly violating the terms of his probation related to a previous domestic violence conviction.
Jail records indicate that Bryan was denied bail and is expected to remain behind bars until Wednesday, December 3.
Bryan is currently serving a three-year probation sentence from a 2023 domestic violence case, which is scheduled to continue through October 2026. His latest arrest marks another significant violation in a series of ongoing legal issues in Oregon.
What Charges Does Zachery Ty Bryan’s Girlfriend Face?
Bryan’s girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, was also arrested on Saturday and booked into the same Oregon jail. Court documents show she faces multiple charges, including:
- DUII (Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants)
- Three counts of reckless endangerment
- Attempted first-degree assault
Her first court appearance was scheduled for Monday.
Bryan’s Legal Troubles Date Back Years
The actor’s recent arrest is part of a longer pattern of legal incidents. In 2020, Bryan was arrested following what police described as an alcohol-related dispute involving Cartwright. He initially faced multiple charges, though he was ultimately convicted of menacing. That probation was still active at the time of his latest alleged violation.
Since then, Bryan has faced additional legal cases, including:
- A DUII arrest in Oklahoma
- A South Carolina case in which he was accused of assaulting and strangling Cartwright
These incidents have contributed to his ongoing legal challenges across multiple states.
