The official GTA 6 trailer has been published. The trailer was supposed to go live on December 5 at 9 a.m. ET. However, due to a leak, it was released 15 hours ahead of schedule.

Grand Theft Auto 5 was released in September of 2013. As a result, after ten years since the game’s last release, the expectation for the GTA 6 trailer was already high.

The leak, and consequently the early release of the game’s trailer, has sent fans into a frenzy. GTA 6’s release date and compatible platforms have also been confirmed.

The GTA 6 trailer was leaked by a now-suspended account on X. The developer, Rockstar Games, responded quickly and posted the official trailer to YouTube.

Rockstar commented on X, “Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing on YouTube,” and embedded the trailer. The trailer gained more than 29 million views on the video-sharing network within four hours of its release.

GTA 6 is situated in Vice City, an imaginary version of Miami, according to the teaser. We are then introduced to Lucia, the female protagonist, whom we first see behind bars and later follow throughout the city in Bonnie and Clyde-style exploits. We also see standard GTA components such as fast vehicles, firearms, money, and more.

Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X, according to a press release from Rockstar Games. A precise release date will almost certainly be disclosed closer to the debut. According to the press statement, Grand Theft Auto 5 has sold over 190 million units to date.
