Apple unveiled its AirPods Pro 3 alongside the iPhone 17 series and Apple Watch updates, including the Watch Series 11, Watch Ultra 3, and Watch SE 3.
The AirPods Pro 3 are priced at $249 and available in white. Pre-orders are open now, and the earbuds will officially go on sale September 19.
Health and Fitness Features
The new AirPods Pro 3 include health sensors for heart rate tracking, transforming them into a fitness and wellness companion. Using a custom PPG (photoplethysmography) sensor, infrared light measures blood flow, working with motion sensors, GPS, and iPhone AI to monitor:
- Heart rate
- Calories burned
- Over 50 workout types
- Move ring progress and Fitness app awards
Apple also introduces a Workout Buddy feature, offering personalized guidance and motivational insights during exercise.

Advanced Sound and Noise Features
The AirPods Pro 3 feature improved adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency mode, which Apple claims is twice as effective as the previous model.
Key audio enhancements include:
- Ultra-low noise microphones and foam-infused ear tips for better passive noise isolation
- Multiport acoustic design for improved spatial sound
- Next-gen Adaptive EQ for enhanced bass, expanded soundstage, and clearer vocals
- Personalised Transparency to make voices sound natural
Additionally, Live Translation allows hands-free real-time conversation translation in English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish, with more languages coming later this year.
Hearing Health and Accessibility
Apple continues to expand hearing health features, including:
- Hearing Protection certified for EU and UK users
- Hearing Test using improved ANC for quieter results
- Conversation Boost to amplify speech and reduce background noise
Design, Fit, and Durability
The AirPods Pro 3 sport a new ergonomic design for a comfortable, secure fit across all ear shapes and sizes. Five different ear tip sizes, including a new XXS option, are included.
The earbuds and charging case feature IP57 dust and water resistance. The redesigned charging case is smaller, sleeker, and retains lanyard support.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.3 and support for lossless audio.
Battery Life and Charging
Battery performance is claimed as follows:
- Up to 8 hours per earbud per charge
- Up to 10 hours with Transparency mode and Hearing Aid enabled
- Up to 24 hours total with the charging case
- Quick 5-minute charge provides 1 hour of playback
- Charging via USB Type-C or Qi2 wireless charging
