A statewide outage of the 911 emergency services was reported in Pennsylvania on Friday afternoon. Residents received an emergency alert informing them that the 911 service is down across the entire state and were advised to report emergencies directly to local law enforcement authorities.

Urgent Message from Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency

“Pennsylvania is experiencing a statewide intermittent 911 outage,” the message from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) stated. “Individuals experiencing issues contacting 911 are asked to contact their local 911 Center on their non-emergency lines. Check your county’s social media and website for more information.”

Important Reminder from Authorities

Dauphin County officials have urged residents not to make test calls during the outage. “Only call if you have an emergency. DO NOT do test calls to 911 or the non-emergency lines! This blocks real emergencies,” the county stated in a Facebook post.
