A brush fire erupted in Laguna Beach, California, on Monday afternoon, leading to mandatory evacuations in nearby areas, including Summit Drive, La Mirada Street, and Katella Street, according to officials.
The fire broke out near Rancho Laguna Road and Morningside Drive shortly after 2:30 PM and has since spread to one acre, prompting a Level 3 warning from Laguna Beach fire officials.
Evacuation Orders Issued
The following areas need to evacuate due to an active fire: La Mirada Street, Katella Street, Summit Drive, and Baja Street. Police and Fire on scene.

At 3 PM, Laguna Beach fire officials stated that residents in the following areas must evacuate immediately:
- La Mirada Street
- Katella Street
- Summit Drive
- Baja Street
Additionally, the Arch Beach Heights neighborhood is under an evacuation warning.
As of 3:45 p.m., Laguna Beach fire officials said the following street intersections are under hard closure.
- Broadway Street
- South Coast Highway
Southbound traffic will be redirected onto Laguna Canyon road, police said.
As of 4:20 p.m., all inbound traffic on Laguna Canyon Road at El Toro was shut down.
An evacuation center has been established at the Susi Q Center located at 380 Third St.
