WhatsApp has released a feature that will make it easier to initiate a discussion with other users, even if their phone number isn’t saved as a contact. The new feature, which is accessible on both iOS and Android smartphones, allows you to start a chat with a stranger by inputting their phone number into the app.
Previously, users who didn’t want to start a chat with an unknown person without saving their phone number as a contact had to resort to a variety of workarounds that were either inconvenient or needed the installation of another application.
The option to start a discussion with an unknown person was just rolled out on the popular Meta-owned messaging service, according to feature tracker WABetaInfo. To use the new feature, simply enter a user’s phone number after updating WhatsApp from the Google Play or Apple App Store.
Previously, users had to download a third-party app to start a new WhatsApp chat, or type wa.me/ into their browser’s address bar, followed by the phone number of the person they wanted to contact. These ways, however, are not as user-friendly as the most recent features, which allow you to start a discussion with a stranger from within the app.
LoudFact confirmed that the functionality works as expected on the most recent versions of WhatsApp for iOS and WhatsApp for Android. You can begin using the new functionality by following the steps in the guide below.
