York County Shooting: Officers Shot in Spring Grove

Authorities are investigating an active shooting in North Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania, where multiple officers have been injured. Police, EMS, and fire police units rushed to the scene after reports of an officer-involved shooting on Tuesday afternoon.

According to York County online dispatch records, the incident unfolded around the 1800 block of Haar Road. At least two officers were airlifted by medevac helicopters due to severe injuries.

Schools Ordered to Shelter in Place

The Spring Grove School District announced that all schools, from kindergarten through 12th grade, were placed on shelter-in-place status. Officials emphasized the situation is not related to students or staff, but safety measures were immediately enforced.

The nearby WellSpan Hospital was also placed on lockdown as a precaution.

Ted Czech, the public information officer for York County, confirmed that the first emergency call came in around 2:10 p.m. regarding the police incident.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro shared an update on X, stating:

“I’ve been briefed on the situation involving law enforcement in York County, and am on my way there now. We ask those in the area to please follow the directions of local law enforcement and @PAStatePolice.”

Local police confirmed the area remains a “very active scene” as investigations continue.

Location of the Incident

According to York County scanner reports, the shooting occurred near Haar and Emig Roads in Spring Grove. A heavy police presence, EMS units, and medevac helicopters were deployed to manage the situation.
