Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West, 12, has drawn widespread attention after sharing videos on TikTok showcasing a bold new look.
In clips posted on the joint “Kim and North” account on Sunday, North appeared wearing all-black grills, a bridge piercing, turquoise hair, and a large diamond skull necklace.
Details of the makeover
In the videos, North revealed a piercing that goes through the bridge of her nose and displayed a custom necklace featuring a skull with blue eyes, spikes, and a white chainlink design. According to the post, the necklace is set with 106 carats of diamonds and was a Christmas gift from her mother.
North paired the jewelry with a pleated grey miniskirt, a baggy white T-shirt, black fur boots, and spiked cuffs. She was joined by a friend with facial piercings and hot pink hair as the two danced and lip-synced to music.
“We da real rockstars,” North captioned one of the videos.
Not her first bold style moment
This is not the first time North has experimented with striking looks. She previously appeared with bleached eyebrows and oversized blue braids in a SKIMS campaign. Last month, she also drew attention for sharing photos of a dermal piercing.
Those earlier posts prompted criticism from some social media users, who questioned whether such piercings were appropriate for her age.
Mixed reactions and safety concerns
The latest videos again sparked debate online. Some commenters praised North’s confidence and self-expression, while others raised concerns about parenting choices and safety.
One TikTok user wrote, “Being famous doesn’t mean breaking norms that edge towards bad parenting is good… Not even in high school yet.” Another added, “You’re 12 and sorry, but your mom should do better by you.”
According to Healthline, dermal piercings “carry a high risk of complications,” including infection and tissue damage.
Public discussion continues
The posts continue to circulate widely across social media platforms, highlighting ongoing public discussion around celebrity parenting, age-appropriate self-expression, and the influence of fame on children growing up in the public eye.
Neither Kim Kardashian nor representatives for her family have publicly responded to the criticism.
