US President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk, who have had public disagreements in the past, were seen seated together at the Charlie Kirk memorial in Arizona on Sunday.
Musk took a seat beside Trump in his private box during Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s speech. The two were joined by Dana White, CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, engaging in conversation throughout the event.
Earlier, Musk posted on social media platform X: “Charlie was murdered by the Dark for showing people the Light.”
Kirk, 31, was tragically shot while attending an event at Utah Valley University on September 10.

Musk and Trump’s Tumultuous Past
Earlier in the year, Musk—longtime supporter of Trump’s presidential campaigns—had a public fallout with the US President over the One Big Beautiful Bill, which aimed to advance many of Trump’s domestic policy priorities. The disagreement escalated into personal attacks on social media.
After Trump threatened on Truth Social to cut federal subsidies and contracts to Musk’s companies, including Tesla and SpaceX, Musk claimed:
“Trump appears in government documents about convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. That is the real reason they have not been made public.”
Despite the fallout, Musk was the biggest Republican donor in 2024, contributing nearly $300 million to Trump’s campaign. He had been a visible figure in Trump’s inner circle, attending Oval Office meetings, Cabinet events, and leading the Department of Government Efficiency.
Shared Public Moments
The Trump-Musk camaraderie had previously included unique public displays, such as turning the White House lawn into a Tesla showroom, where Trump sat inside a red Model S while announcing his intention to purchase the car.
However, tensions resurfaced over the One Big Beautiful Bill, with Musk calling for Trump’s impeachment, highlighting the ups and downs of their relationship.
