Dutch Queen Maxima Speaks Out On Claims Of Mocking Trump In Viral Video

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands denied allegations that she was “mocking” US President Donald Trump in a viral video circulating on social media. Both Maxima and Trump were present at the recent NATO summit in The Hague.

The Queen clarified that she was simply expressing gratitude to someone off-camera and was not ridiculing the US President in the widely shared footage.

She told the Dutch news outlet AD, “I said ‘thank you’ to someone who had assisted me.”

She characterized her meetings with Trump during his visit to the Netherlands as a “pleasant experience.”

In a video shared by CNN editor Vani Mehrotra that emerged online, Maxima seems to mimic Trump’s mouth movements while he talks, as she stands alongside him and her husband, King Willem-Alexander, during a casual exchange.

“Queen Maxima of the Netherlands is thought to be mocking Donald Trump,” CNN editor Vani Mehrotra stated in a post.

The King and Queen, along with their 21-year-old daughter, Princess Catharina-Amalia, greeted Trump at the palace. Before introducing their firstborn, Amalia, the heir to the Dutch throne, Their Majesties were seen on camera having a friendly dialogue with the president.
