A shooting happened around 6:15 p.m. EDT Sunday at Punch Bowl Social, a restaurant and arcade bar on West 11th Street in Cleveland’s Flats East Bank, police said.
The incident started as a fight inside the venue and quickly moved to the parking lot.
Five people were hurt, including one suspected shooter. Two victims were taken to a local hospital in critical condition, and three others with minor injuries were treated at the scene, according to Citizen App.
Police Response and Suspect Search
Cleveland Police said at least one suspect ran toward the Cuyahoga Port Authority railroad tracks, where witnesses saw him drop an automatic weapon. Officers found rifle and pistol casings outside the venue, showing that more than one gun was used.
The area was crowded after a Cleveland Browns game, and firefighters on scene for a separate crowd issue reported the gunshots. Authorities blocked streets around the scene and paused train operations while drones and officers searched for the suspect.
Witness Reports and Investigation
Citizen App shared videos showing large crowds outside Punch Bowl Social as first responders helped the injured. A blood trail was found nearby. Police said canine units might be used to track the suspect if drones can’t cover the area.
No arrests have been made yet, and the motive for the shooting is unknown. Police are reviewing security camera footage from nearby businesses to follow the suspect’s path.
Safety Concerns in Cleveland
Punch Bowl Social is known for bowling, karaoke, and rooftop views and had no history of violence.
Cleveland, however, has seen a rise in shootings in 2025. In May, a shooting near East 13th Street left one person dead and three injured.
Mayor Justin Bibb introduced a safety plan to reduce shootings, but by early September, the city recorded 109 fatal shootings or crashes.
Latest Updates
Citizen App shared ongoing updates:
- The suspect may have discarded an automatic weapon on nearby tracks.
- Police are checking the front of the venue for more evidence, including shell casings.
- Drone support is being coordinated with the Port Authority to help locate the suspect.
