Chris Martin took the stage at Coldplay’s concert on Saturday to address the ongoing Andy Byron-Kristin Cabot kiss cam controversy—not directly, but with a lighthearted warning for fans. Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Martin playfully said, “Some of you will be on the big screen,” as the Jumbotron panned to showcase fans.

“We’d like to say hello to some of you in the crowd and put some of you on the big screen,” Martin said, setting the tone for a fun evening. The frontman humorously added, “Please, if you haven’t done your makeup, do your makeup now,” prompting laughter from the audience. A video of these remarks has since gone viral on social media.
This follows an incident where Martin unintentionally captured Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR chief Kristin Cabot in a cozy moment during Coldplay’s Boston concert on Wednesday. The now-famous ‘kiss cam’ moment ignited speculation regarding infidelity and affairs, as both executives are married to different partners.
Coldplay’s Social Media Silence
In the wake of the scandal, Coldplay faced criticism for not addressing the incident in their social media posts. Martin, donning a cheesehead hat for the Saturday concert, chose to remain silent about the kiss cam controversy.
Andy Byron Resigns amid Scandal
Shortly after the kiss cam video went viral, Andy Byron stepped down from his role as CEO of the data technology firm Astronomer. A company statement released on Friday confirmed his resignation, stating: “As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding.”
“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met. Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.”
The statement further emphasized that while awareness of the company may have changed “overnight,” their mission to help clients with data and AI issues remains unchanged.
As of now, neither Cabot nor Byron has issued official statements regarding the unfolding events.
