A massive supercell storm with a tornado warning hovered over Cheyenne, Wyoming on Friday, prompting emergency alerts and sirens across the city. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued tornado warnings for three Wyoming counties, warning of severe weather conditions and dangerous hail.
The storm created a frightening scene in Cheyenne as continuous rain and hail battered Laramie County. Residents shared photos and videos showing baseball-sized hail crashing down as tornado sirens echoed across the area.
The warning lasts till 6:15 p.m. EDT, as per the NWS.

NWS Issues Tornado Watch for Three Wyoming Counties and More
Along with Laramie County, the NWS also placed Goshen County and Platte County under a tornado watch until 10 p.m. Friday.
Additionally, parts of northeast Colorado and the Nebraska Panhandle were placed under a tornado warning. The NWS warned that the storm system could produce hail up to 3 inches in diameter and wind gusts up to 70 mph.
Cheyenne Pummeled by Hail: Damage to Trees, Homes, and Vehicles
The hailstorm in Cheyenne caused damage to trees, homes, and vehicles caught outside. Local residents posted striking photos of the ice balls — some between the size of a tennis ball and a baseball — covering backyards and streets.

Several Cheyenne residents shared photos of the hailstones, which varied in size and caused visible damage across the city. Streets and lawns were littered with thick ice as the storm passed through.

Tornado Watch Remains in Effect Until 10:15 p.m.
While the tornado warning was set to expire at 6:15 p.m., the broader tornado watch will remain in effect until 10:15 p.m. for many areas. The NWS cautioned that further storms and hail are possible through the night.
