An active shooter incident in East Cleveland, Ohio, has left at least one person dead and a police officer injured, according to early reports. The shooting occurred Thursday evening near the 1900s block of N Taylor/Euclid, with authorities still working to apprehend the suspect.

What We Know About the East Cleveland Shooting
NE Ohio Scanner, a trusted source for real-time police and fire updates in the Cleveland area, reported that shots were fired in the 1900s block of N Taylor/Euclid. At least one male was shot, and a police officer sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.
“Emergency medical services were waiting for the police to clear the scene as shots were being fired,” the outlet reported.
A K9 unit and drone support were deployed to assist in locating the suspect. A second victim was also found with multiple gunshot wounds. While the officer was reportedly shot in the calf, the second victim was said to still be breathing.
Suspect Still At Large, Police Searching Motel Area
As of the latest updates, the suspect remains at large. NE Ohio Scanner noted that a second drone was deployed during the search, indicating that law enforcement had not yet located the shooter.
More shots were later reported near the Town House Motel on Euclid Avenue, where the suspect was reportedly cornered behind the motel. Police and emergency response crews set up a staging area nearby.
Official Response and Upcoming Press Briefing
A news photographer with News 5 Cleveland shared that East Cleveland’s mayor stated no official information would be released Thursday night. A press conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday to provide an update.
“The house is surrounded,” the photographer noted. “Going by the chatter, it seems people are awaiting a SWAT team to breach.”
