He recorded a notable 616 rushing yards on 126 carries, averaging 4.9 yards per carry and scoring 5 rushing touchdowns. Additionally, he excelled on special teams, averaging 29.5 yards per kickoff return, earning regional recognition.

Before his time at Granada Hills, Tamura played as a junior varsity player for Golden Valley High School during the 2014-15 season, accumulating 774 rushing yards on 139 carries and scoring 11 touchdowns. He also logged 103 receiving yards and 298 kickoff return yards, totaling over 1,346 all-purpose yards and averaging more than 134 yards per game.
