A dramatic Mashpee explosion rocked the New Seabury Country Club in Cape Cod on Wednesday evening, with multiple blasts believed to have been caused by fireworks. Further, the incident prompted a swift and large-scale emergency response, raising alarms among the local residents and drawing widespread attention on social media.

Explosions at New Seabury Spark Panic

The Mashpee explosion occurred at the New Seabury Country Club, a 300-acre private golf and beach resort. Videos shared online captured intense scenes of ground-level blasts, bright flashes, and smoke as people fled the area in panic. Eyewitnesses reported their homes shaking during the event.

Emergency crews, including fire trucks, ambulances, and Mashpee police, rushed to the scene. The Mashpee Fire Department has launched an investigation, but as of now, no official cause has been confirmed. It remains unclear whether the explosion was linked to a planned fireworks display scheduled for the area that night.

No Official Injuries Confirmed Yet

While some online posts claimed that at least two individuals were injured—one reportedly a burn victim and another a trauma patient—authorities have not yet confirmed any casualties. Emergency teams remain on-site, and investigations are ongoing to assess the full extent of the damage.

Social Media Videos Show Terrifying Scene

Shocking videos of the Mashpee explosion quickly circulated on social media. The footage shows fireworks erupting close to the ground, with loud bangs and visible sparks filling the air as people scrambled for safety. Onlookers described the blasts as “terrifying.”

Background: New Seabury & Recent Mashpee Incidents

The Club at New Seabury was recently acquired by Concert Golf Partners in June 2025 for $60 million. The property includes two championship golf courses and employs more than 500 seasonal staff. The explosion adds to a series of fire-related incidents in Mashpee in recent years, including a 2023 condo fire on Sand Dunes Court and a 2024 shed fire on Burning Bush Road.

Additionally, Authorities are urging anyone with video or information related to the Mashpee explosion to come forward as they continue to piece together the cause and impact of the incident.
