WhatsApp Working on a Revamped Dark Interface, Sidebar for Web Users

The new WhatsApp UI is expected to benefit users in low-light circumstances.

Dark mode for WhatsApp’s Web version was first introduced in 2020. The instant messaging platform is now rumored to be working on a new color palette and a revised sidebar for the dark theme.

The new interface is meant to benefit WhatsApp Web users in low-light circumstances. It is expected to reduce eye strain. WhatsApp, on the other hand, has not yet officially announced the construction of a new interface, and it is not yet available to beta testers.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a new background color for the dark layout of its Web version, as well as a newly updated sidebar. The improved design and color enhancements are supposed to lessen eye strain in low-light situations. The sidebar might provide a better messaging experience.

The new interface is not yet available for testing, but it is likely to be included in a future WhatsApp Web update. The publication did, however, give a peek at the rumored color scheme for the dark theme. The new color palette may be seen in the top bar, background, and message bubbles.

Meta’s instant messaging platform has just received several additional capabilities. Pinned Messages, which allow users to highlight a specific message in any current one-on-one or group conversation and pin it to the top of that chat for up to 30 days, were unveiled earlier this month by the social media platform.

In addition, WhatsApp included the View Once option for voice messages. This allows users to send a voice message that will be deleted once the receiver has listened to it.

Users of WhatsApp may soon be able to post status updates via the Web version or paired ‘companion’ devices. It is also said to be developing a new feature that would allow users to share HD photographs and movies in their status updates.
