Recently, Samsung introduced Odyssey 3D, their latest breakthrough in gaming monitors, at Gamescom 2024. The event, held in Cologne, Germany, also saw the South Korean technology company unveil models from its Odyssey G6, G8, and G9 series.

The new Samsung Odyssey 3D can convert 2D content into 3D pictures using a specific sort of lens, making 3D glasses unnecessary. Samsung Odyssey 3D has two screen sizes: 27-inch and 37-inch. It can output in 4K resolution with a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz.

The monitor’s Eye Tracking and View Mapping technologies allow you to view 3D material without glasses. The former uses a built-in stereo camera to track eye movement, whereas the latter enhances depth perception by adjusting the image.

Samsung claims users can switch between 2D and 3D modes based on their preferences. Its 3D capabilities are enabled by light field display (LFD) technology. It has FreeSync Premium technology and a 1ms grey-to-grey (GTG) response time, making it ideal for gaming.

In terms of connectivity, the Samsung Odyssey 3D has one DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 ports. It includes a Height Adjustment Stand (HAS) and tilt functionality for further convenience.

In addition to the Odyssey 3D, Samsung introduced three more monitors: Odyssey OLED G95SD, G93SD, and G85SD. The OLED G9 series has dual QHD resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, and a 32:9 ultra-wide screen ratio. It also includes Smart Hub and Gaming Hub. The monitors’ grey-to-grey (GTG) reaction time is 0.03ms.
