1. How To Personalise Home Page
The startup page is the one you see when you launch Chrome on your PC. The home page is the one you see when tapping on the home button.
On your computer, launch the Chrome browser. At the top right corner, you will see a three-dot menu. Here, go to Settings. Choose “Appearance” and turn on the Show Home button. Under this button, you can choose to set a new tab page or a custom page.
2. Bookmarks, Passwords & More
Syncing allows you to import bookmarks, passwords, and other information across all your devices. Google further gives you the option to select what information you want to be synchronized with.
To personalize syncing, open your Chrome browser. Click on the three-dot menu to enter Settings. Under the “You and Google” option, click on sync and Google services.
Here, you can take a look at all the synchronized information. Under the Sync button, you can choose what is getting synced. If you do not prefer syncing, you can simply turn off “sync everything.”
3. Turning Sync On And Off
Google users can easily create a profile on the Chrome browser. All you need to do is sign in with your Google account. This will help you synchronize your information such as bookmarks, history, passwords, and other settings.
To switch on sync, here is what you need to do:
On your Chrome for Android browser app, tap on the three-dots menu. Then go to Settings. Here, sign in with your Chrome. Tap Continue, and then Ok. You can follow a similar process on your Chrome on PC.
If you are using a public computer, we will recommend you skip signing in with your Google account and instead use it as the guest mode.

6. Use Themes
Google launched a couple of themes for Chrome and if you need additional themes you can add them through extensions. Now, you simply need to head to the Chrome settings and apply a theme of your choice.
For this launch Chrome on your PC. Click on the three-dot icon at the top and select Settings. Scroll down and click on Themes under Appearance. You will be taken to the Chrome Web Store.
Select any theme you like. Then, on the next screen, click on Add to Chrome.
If you want to go back to the original theme, then click on Reset to default next to Themes in Chrome Settings.
7. Add Image As Chrome Background
To add a picture as the new tab page background, open a new tab. Click on the Customize icon present at the bottom.
A new window will open that will let you pick one from the available backgrounds or upload a new one. To add your image, click on Upload from the device. Then, choose the picture of your choice and click on Done.
8. Change or Disable Shortcuts
To change the shortcuts available on the new tab page, click on the Customize button at the bottom of the new tab page. Then, click on Shortcuts.
You will get two options — My shortcuts and Most visited sites. In the former one, you need to set the shortcuts manually, and Chrome will automatically generate shortcuts in the latter, depending on the frequency of their usage. In case you don’t want to see shortcuts, turn on the toggle next to Hide shortcuts.
