‘Last Comic Standing’ Star Jon Reep Arrested in NC.

Comedian and actor Jon Reep has been arrested in North Carolina on multiple child sexual exploitation charges, according to authorities. The 53-year-old was taken into custody on Friday, September 5, 2025.

The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Reep faces one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and nine counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was booked into jail but later released after posting a $260,000 bond.

Investigation Timeline

The arrest came after Hickory Police received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on April 15, 2025. The tip involved suspected child sexual abuse material.

Detectives seized Reep’s property as part of the investigation. On September 2, a grand jury indicted him on charges connected to online crimes.

Officials said investigators also searched electronic devices and reviewed online communications before making the arrest.

Who Is Jon Reep?

Jon Reep, originally from Hickory, North Carolina, is best known for winning season 5 of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2007. He also starred in the ABC sitcom “Rodney” and appeared in several Dodge commercials.

According to his website, Reep had a scheduled show at the Paramount Theater in Goldsboro on the night of his arrest. That performance has since been rescheduled.

As of now, it is unclear whether Jon Reep has entered a plea or hired legal representation.

Case Background

The indictment followed months of work by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which linked material to Reep. Authorities said search warrants were executed, and evidence was collected before charges were filed.
