Jimmy Kimmel married his college sweetheart, Gina Maddy, in 1988 after meeting at Arizona State University. The couple shares two children:
- Katie Kimmel, born August 28, 1991
- Kevin Kimmel, born September 19, 1993
Kimmel was just 24 when Katie was born. He recounted to Vulture:
“We moved across the country, and I would work from four in the morning till around 11 in the morning, and at the time my ex-wife worked too. I would pick Katie up from daycare as quickly as I could since we could not afford to pay $5 an hour to keep her there longer.”
Katie is now married to Will Logsdon. Speaking to People about raising his children while working in radio, Kimmel said:
“I didn’t make any money when I was in radio, and I got fired a lot. It was extremely stressful to frequently relocate due to my profession with my little kids.”
Jimmy Kimmel’s Second Marriage and Children
After separating from Gina Maddy in 2002, Jimmy Kimmel married TV writer Molly McNearney in 2013. They have two children together:
- Jane Kimmel, born July 10, 2014
- Billy Kimmel, born April 21, 2017
Kimmel revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that their daughter Jane was named after his grandmother. Billy underwent open-heart surgery just three days after birth.
Kimmel met Molly while she worked as a writer’s assistant on his show in 2004. She later became the executive producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which is currently suspended following controversial remarks.
