Apple Watch Users Can Change Default Ringtone With WatchOS 11

With the new Vitals app, owners of Apple Watches can now do more than just change out their ringtones; they can also get insights based on their recent health metrics.

Apple introduced WatchOS 11, the most recent operating system (OS) for the Apple Watch, on Monday. It brings new features like a Training Load, an enhanced smart stack with Live Activities, the ability to understand workout strain, and better support during pregnancy. The Apple Watch now offers the option to change the default ringtone, a feature that the Cupertino-based tech company did not specifically advertise.

The Apple Watch’s ringtone hasn’t changed much since it was introduced. Even with the introduction of Watch Series 3, customers were still unable to choose the one they desired. However, the latest watchOS 11 update changes this by adding a variety of ringtone choices.

There are currently eight ringtones available for users to select from: Wonder, Jingle, Nighthawk, Focus, Pebbles, Transmit, Twirl, and Windup.

To adjust the ringtone on your Apple Watch, go to Settings and select the Sound & Haptics option. It will be accessible through the Ringtones menu. Users can also customize the notification tones for emails, texts, and calendar alerts.

With the new Vitals app, owners of Apple Watches can now get insights based on their recent health metrics in addition to changing their ringtone. Furthermore, the Training Load feature allows them to monitor their exercise activities.

Additional widgets like Shazam, Translate, Distance, Photos, severe weather alerts, and Live Activities are also being added by Apple to Smart Stack.

Fitness rings on the Apple Watch are now customisable, meaning users can now “pause” them to take time off from training, without it hampering their award streaks. Additionally, watchOS 11 includes an improved Photos watch face that uses machine learning to find the best photos that show depth. Additionally, a new feature called Dynamic Mode allows users to raise their wrists to automatically change the background.
