A Malaysia Police (PDRM) helicopter nosedived and crashed into the waters of Sungai Pulai in Gelang Patah on Thursday morning. Authorities reported that five police personnel on board were successfully rescued.

Dramatic videos of the incident surfaced on social media, showing the PDRM chopper nosediving directly into the river. Eyewitness accounts detail the shocking moment as the helicopter crashed during a demonstration.

Rescue Efforts and Hospitalization

The five police personnel rescued from the helicopter were admitted to a local hospital, with reports indicating that some are in critical condition.

Two media practitioners on duty witnessed the crash and expressed their disbelief at the scene.

Details of the Crash During MITSATOM 2025 Exercise

The AS355 helicopter was involved in a flypast as part of the MITSATOM 2025 exercise, which also included participation from Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirmed that the accident occurred at 9:51 AM, involving a PDRM AS355N helicopter with registration number 9M-PHG. According to CAAM, the helicopter took off from the Tanjung Kupang police station at the same time.

Critical Condition of Some Rescued Personnel

Reports indicate that two of the five police personnel are in critical condition and are receiving respiratory assistance. Both are currently being treated at Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Bahru.
