Donald Trump To Host Netanyahu At White House On July 7

Critical White House Summit Focused on Ending 20-Month Gaza War, as Trump Demands Israel "Make the Deal".

U.S. President Donald Trump will host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on July 7, accelerating efforts to broker a Gaza ceasefire and secure the release of hostages amid escalating violence that killed 60 Palestinians in fresh Israeli strikes on Monday 14. The high-stakes meeting, Netanyahu’s third since Trump took office in January, comes days after Trump publicly urged Israel to “make the deal in Gaza” and end its 20-month military campaign.

Key Agenda

Gaza Ceasefire & Hostages:

Trump’s spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt confirmed ending the war is a “top priority,” emphasizing the administration’s “constant communication” with Israel to return remaining hostages held by Hamas. At least 49 hostages are still captive in Gaza, with 27 presumed dead. Leavitt called images from the conflict “heartbreaking,” adding that Trump “wants to save lives”.

Iran’s Nuclear Threat:

Talks will address damage to Iran’s nuclear facilities (Fordo, Natanz, Isfahan) from recent U.S.-Israeli strikes. While IAEA chief Rafael Grossi confirmed “significant destruction,” he warned Iran could rebuild capabilities if inspections are blocked.

U.S. Arms Sale & Netanyahu’s Trial:

Hours before announcing the summit, the State Department approved a $510 million sale of 7,000 precision bomb kits to Israel. Trump also intensified pressure on Israeli prosecutors to drop Netanyahu’s corruption trial, calling it a “WITCH HUNT” and vowing, “We are not going to stand for this”. Netanyahu thanked Trump on social media, pledging to “make the Middle East Great Again”.

Escalating Violence and Diplomatic Urgency

Despite Trump’s Friday prediction of a ceasefire “within a week,” Israel intensified attacks in northern Gaza, killing 51 Palestinians Monday, including 24 at a coastal rest area. The conflict has killed over 56,500 Gazans and displaced 2.3 million since Hamas’ October 2023 attack.

Israeli Minister Ron Dermer is in Washington finalizing summit details, with both leaders seeking to leverage their joint strike on Iran to expand Middle East peace deals.

Controversy and Criticism

Trump’s interference in Netanyahu’s trial sparked backlash in Israel, with lawmakers calling it an affront to judicial independence. Meanwhile, U.S. officials privately link Gaza progress to Netanyahu’s political survival.
