Apple will likely unveil the iPhone 16 series of handsets in the coming weeks, including four new variants. A tipster has now suggested that the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the series’s largest handset, will have thinner screen bezels than any other smartphone in the industry.
The reported size of the bezel has also been leaked, and Apple is said to be using a new approach to reduce the bezels on its flagship iPhone model. Ice Universe on X (previously Twitter) claimed that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have 1.15mm bezels.
The post features a computer-aided design (CAD) rendering of the flagship phone with thin bezels around the screen. For comparison, last year’s iPhone 15 Pro Max had 1.71mm bezels surrounding the display.
As the ancient Greek god in charge of bezel, I would definitely buy the iPhone 16 Pro Max . I can’t refuse it. pic.twitter.com/QBhqIh0UE9

If the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s bezels measure 1.15mm, it will have a significant advantage over the premium Galaxy S24 series and the newly released Google Pixel 9 Pro XL in the market. Users will benefit from additional display space thanks to the razor-thin bezels. Apple is said to be using Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology to reduce the bottom bezel of current iPhone models.
In a separate post, the tipster also shared an image of what appears to be a tempered glass display cover for the iPhone 16 Pro Max. However, this image tells us very little about the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s bezels.
The latest reports about the iPhone 16 Pro Max come just a week after leaked dummy units of the handset appeared online. The iPhone 16 Pro series is believed to be available in black, white, gold, grey, and titanium colors. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to include a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 4,676mAh battery with 40W wired charging and 20W MagSafe charging.
