Apple launched iOS 18 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 last month. During the event, the Cupertino-based tech giant unveiled many new features to include in its next big update to the iPhone operating system. However, some features not discussed at the event are now being discovered.

A report has discovered two new features in the Weather app. One of the additions is reported to provide a slight design change and relocate the ‘Feels Like’ temperature so that users can easily find it.

9to5Mac discovered two new modifications to iOS 18’s Weather app that may improve its usability. According to images given by the publication, the ‘Feels Like’ temperature will now appear more prominently beneath the real temperature at the top of the app’s display.

This will significantly improve its present position, where users must scroll down to see this metric. ‘Feels Like’ will be displayed in a different size and font style to make it easier to identify.

‘Feels Like’ temperature refers to how hot or cold the weather feels, as opposed to the objective air temperature reported by weather stations. This considers various aspects, including the effect of relative humidity, wind speed, and air temperature, to determine what an individual would feel the temperature to be. With this Weather app update, users may now see both readings simultaneously.

According to the publication, the ‘Feels Like’ temperature will only be seen if the difference between it and the actual air temperature is large. If the change is slight or none, users will only see the former.

The second feature would purportedly allow users to check the weather at both their homes and workplaces. The iOS 18 upgrade will enable the Weather app to interface with Contacts and retrieve home and work addresses.

According to the report, users of the app would notice them as new locations added to their list of tracked weather spots for convenience. Previously, users had to manually add these places to check for weather updates.
