The Meta-owned social media platform is introducing a feature that will allow users to add song lyrics to their Reels, similar to its Stories. This follows reports that Instagram has been testing a few new features in recent weeks.
Some of these features focused on improving how we view our feeds, while others focused on collaborative publishing. However, the new song lyrics feature introduced to Instagram Reels is a feature that viewers are already aware of because it has been available on Instagram Stories for some time.
Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri made the announcement on his Broadcast Channel. He stated that the team discovered that users often manually add song lyrics to their videos. He stated in the announcement that he believed this tool would assist users and make it easier for them to express themselves. He also stated that the company is presently developing new features for Reels.
If you wish to add song lyrics to an Instagram Reel, you must first touch on the music icon and then select a song. Once you’ve picked the song (for which you want to add lyrics), swipe left to add the lyrics to it. This works similarly to Instagram Stories’ Music feature, which has long allowed us to add song lyrics (if available) to Stories.
Mosseri recently claimed that Instagram is exploring a feature that allows users to invite their friends to contribute to their feed postings, resulting in collaborative carousel posts. When the invite is extended, the user will have an option to ‘Add to post’ to add more images.
According to another company statement, users may soon be able to see only posts from verified people. Instagram claimed to be actively testing the feature and soliciting user feedback in order to improve it. There are three options to choose from: a feed from Following, a feed from Favourites, and a feed from Meta Verified users. This could help companies and creators gain visibility.
