How to Unfollow Someone on Facebook: Your Facebook News Feed should be simple and clean to catch up on the activities of friends and family. Thus you need to make sure that you get rid of randoms posts from people whom you barely know. Although you can unfriend or block those people who annoy you with random posts, its always a gentle way to unfollow them than unfriending or blocking.

Don’t think that it will take a lot of time to unfollow the posts from that annoying friend on Facebook, as it is very simple. With this you’ll remain Facebook friends officially, and you can still exchange messages over Messenger, however, you won’t have to see their posts when you open your News Feed. Here’s how to unfollow a Facebook friend.

There are several easy ways to unfollow a Facebook friend. Unfollow from their profile page, post, or from News Feed Preferences in the Settings menu.

How to Unfollow Someone on Facebook

1. Unfollow From Profile Page

To unfollow someone you can follow these steps,

  • Go to the profile page of that friend whom you want to unfollow.
  • Click on the Following option near their cover photo. (On the Facebook app, tap the three dots below their cover photo.)
  • Select Unfollow. (On the app, tap Following and then tap Unfollow.)

2. Unfollow Using Post

To unfollow someone from their post follow these steps,

  • Go to any post made by the friend you want to unfollow.
  • Select the three dots on the top right of their post.
  • Select Unfollow.

If you unfollow someone, you won’t see any more of this person’s posts, however, your posts are still visible to them unless they also unfollow you or block you.

3. Unfollow From News Feed Preferences

Here’s another way to unfollow someone in Facebook.

  • Go to your profile page.
  • Now, Select the down arrow on the top menu bar. (In the Facebook app, tap the three horizontal lines on the bottom.)
  • Select News Feed Preferences. (In the Facebook app, tap Settings and then News Feed Preferences.)
  • Select Unfollow People and Groups to Hide Their Posts.
  • Select the person you want to unfollow, and then select Done.

How To Re-Follow Unfollowed Facebook Friends

If you want to see posts from your unfollowed friend in future again, then you can follow these steps to follow them again.

  • Go to your Facebook profile page.
  • Select the down arrow from the top menu bar. (In the Facebook app, tap the three horizontal lines on the bottom.)
  • Select News Feed Preferences. (In the Facebook app, tap Settings and then News Feed Preferences.)
  • Select Reconnect with people and groups you unfollowed.
  • Select the person you want to reconnect with, and then select Done.

By following these steps you will be able to see this person’s posts on your News Feed again.
