The HMD Barbie Flip Phone was initially revealed in February at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, capitalizing on the excitement around the Margot Robbie-starring movie. Despite having an August 28 debut date, little is known about the phone.

Before making its worldwide debut, it was reportedly seen on a Chinese certification website, where it revealed a number of its features and the much-anticipated look. It is rumored to display Barbie’s signature pink color scheme.

The HMD Flip Phone, model number TA-1681, was discovered on China’s TENAA database, per a MySmartPrice report. The ad and alleged photos support earlier rumors that suggested the phone would have a flip design modeled after older Nokia phones. There are rumors that it comes in a dual-tone pink colorway.

According to reported pictures, the Barbie Flip Phone’s charging port and 3.5mm headphone jack are on the left side, while the volume and power controls are located on the right spine. It was confirmed by an earlier HMD teaser that it will include the “Barbie” branding on the front.

There are rumors that the flip phone has dual displays. A 1.77-inch TFT screen with a resolution of 128 by 160 pixels can be the outside panel and a 2.8-inch TFT panel with 240 by 320 pixels for the primary screen.

According to the listing, it might be powered by a 1.05GHz single-core processor with 64MB of RAM and 128MB of storage. With the use of a microSD card, the capacity may be increased to 32GB. The T9 QWERTY keyboard will be on it.
