Google Is Rolling Out Custom AI Art Screensavers on Google TV Devices

Google revealed the custom AI art screensaver feature last month.

Google is introducing the new features announced for Google TV devices last week. One of the most notable additions is custom artificial intelligence (AI) art screensavers, which transform users’ idle screens into one-of-a-kind works of art.

Users can also create screensavers using photographs from Google Photos. Separately, the Mountain View-based tech giant is introducing a new home panel that will serve as the centralized smart home hub.

A new support page for Google TV has been created, which highlights the new feature. When a smart TV is left idle for an extended period of time, screensavers appear and the home screen is replaced with wallpapers. These are often stock photos of a generic nature. However, the new AI capability allows users to display original art in this space.

There are three options for adding a custom AI art screensaver. The first step is to create a prompt describing the art that consumers desire to see. Another option is to use the available templates and select them to create AI art. The third method involves selecting the “Inspire Me” option. This option enables the AI to generate a random art for users to save as a screensaver.

If the user does not appreciate AI images, they can still submit their favorite photos from Google Photos. To access this feature, the user must first log into their Google account. Notably, users cannot select individual photographs and must choose one or more albums to display as their screensaver.
