Google App Reportedly Testing New Incognito Mode Shortcut

Instead of having to tap on the profile picture option to activate Incognito Mode, users may be able to simply toggle it on and off within the Google app.

According to a report, Google is developing a new shortcut option for its search app’s Incognito mode, enabling users to access the feature quickly. This feature, along with another that causes labels from the bottom banner to disappear, was discovered in a beta version of the Google app for Android smartphones.

This change occurred only one week after rumors circulated that the search engine might stop providing constantly scrolling search results on desktop and mobile devices.

Android Authority spotted a new shortcut on version 15.26.34.29.arm64 of the Google app for Android that opens the Incognito tab. Those testers who have chosen to get beta updates through the Google Play Developer Program can download the most recent beta version.

According to reports, tapping the search box will reveal a new Chrome Incognito option above the keyboard. Rather than using the existing method, which involves tapping on the profile image option in the top-right corner of the screen and then selecting the Incognito tab below the account, users can easily transition to Incognito Mode.

According to reports, the Google app’s main tab will now appear more clearly due to the change. The UI now appears simpler with just the symbols displayed and the labels that existed, including Saved, Home, and Search, hidden.

Although the most recent Google app beta update seems to have these options, we could not access them, indicating that this is likely a server-side modification.

There are also reports that the Google app will soon include Circle to Search, an AI-powered visual search feature. It may allow users to scan any barcodes or QR codes that are visible on the screen. It was discovered in a beta version of the Google app.
