Apple’s iOS 18 Rolls Out Globally: Release Time And More

Share

At its “It’s Glowtime” event on September 9, Apple unveiled the most recent iPhone 16 lineup, which comprises the base model iPhone 16, the iPhone 16 Plus, the iPhone 16 Pro, and the top-tier iPhone 16 Pro Max. The new phones, pre-installed with iOS 18, will go on sale on September 20. However, before the future iPhone 16 owners, owners of previous compatible iPhone models will get to test out Apple’s most recent mobile operating system.

With the most recent major update of iOS, users can freely rearrange apps on the homescreen, customize widgets to their preferences, and modify the colors and tints of icons, among many other customization options.

It is important to remember, though, that the flagship Apple Intelligence features of iOS 18, which include a redesigned Siri and the use of generative artificial intelligence, will not be available until a later version. All iPhone 16 models will enable Apple Intelligence capabilities, although earlier devices will only be supported by iPhone 15 Pro models.

As previously stated, Apple has announced that iOS 18 will launch globally on September 16. Although the iPhone manufacturer has not announced the release timing, prior major iOS versions were made available on day one at 10 a.m. PT.

Many improvements will be included in iOS at launch, while Apple Intelligence elements will come later. With greater customization options for the home screen, users will be able to reorganize widgets and apps as they see fit thanks to the most recent iPhone OS version.

Users can match the tint of the app icon to their wallpaper or apply tints of different colors, giving app icons and widgets a new, darker appearance. Users can also adjust the size of widgets and apps. It is also possible for users to lock or hide sensitive apps from the screen.

A single down swipe on the home screen will unlock additional controls in the Control Center, which is undergoing a makeover. Additionally, users can modify and reorganize the Control Center’s control arrangement.
