Google has released the second developer preview (DP2) of its upcoming Android 12 mobile operating system. With DP2, Google has improved the picture-in-picture (PiP) mode.

It has also made lock-screen notifications more secure and applying graphic effects easy. Apart from this, the company has also added a feature called ‘game dashboard’ to Android 12 DP2.

9To5Google reports that the company is working on bringing a game dashboard to Android 12. It will give users controls and information such as YouTube streaming shortcut and easy capture option among others.

The feature, as per the publication, is tucked inside the code of Android 12 DP2 and for now, it has a simple menu with a bunch of settings and two large squares that are aimed to help users with specific actions.

The quick access settings in the dashboard give users access to four options, which include a screenshot option, a recording option, a frames-per-second option, which is not akin to the traditional Android experience, and a Do Not Disturb button.

Below the four buttons are two large squares. The left square is left blank, probably to help customize it as per their requirements. The right square, on the other hand, quick access to live-streaming users’ mobile gameplay to YouTube. Tapping on this square simply opens the YouTube app directly into creating a new mobile live-stream.

Interestingly, this dashboard is filed under ‘com.google.android.systemui’ instead of ‘com.android.systemui’ indicating that Google is planning to make this feature exclusive to its Pixel phones. But we will have to wait for the company to share future builds to say something with certainty.
